An intradivision trade is moving wide receiver DeVante Parker from the Miami Dolphins to the New England Patriots in the AFC East.
The Patriots are sending a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Dolphins for Parker and a fifth-round pick in the 2022 draft, NFL Network and ESPN reported on Saturday.

While the teams have not announced the trade, New England quarterback Mac Jones already has weighed in on the deal via his Twitter account. “Let’s go!! Welcome to NEP! @DeVanteParker11,” Jones tweeted.
Parker replied to Jones’ tweet with “Let’s get it big dawg.”
The 14th player selected in the 2015 NFL Draft, Parker’s best season came in 2019, when he caught 72 passes for 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns. Last season, Parker missed seven games and finished with 40 receptions for 515 yards and two touchdowns.
Parker became expendable for the Dolphins when they obtained Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill, a former West Alabama standout, in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs and signed former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. in free agency to join wide receiver Jaylen Waddle , Miami’s first-round draft choice from Alabama last year.

Parker joins a wide-receiver corps in New England that could return intact for Jones, the former Alabama All-American who was the quarterback on the All-Rookie team last season, when he passed for 3,801 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Of the five wide receivers who caught more than two passes for New England in 2021, four are on the roster for 2022.
The exception is the top receiver, Jakobi Meyers, who is almost certain to be back for the Patriots. A restricted free agent, Meyers caught 83 passes for 866 yards and two touchdowns in 2021, prompting New England to put a second-round tender on him this offseason. Another team still could sign Meyers away from the Patriots, but it would have to send a second-round draft pick to New England if it did.
Wide receivers on the Patriots’ roster include Kendrick Bourne, who had 55 receptions for 800 yards and five touchdowns in 2021; Nelson Agholor, who had 37 receptions for 473 yards and three touchdowns; K’Neal Harry, who had 12 receptions for 184 yards; and Kristian Wilkerson, who had four receptions for 42 yards and two touchdowns.
The trade will leave Miami with four selections in the 2022 draft, the fewest in the NFL. But the Dolphins have two first-round and two third-round choices to make around their second-round pick in the 2023 draft.
