It’s hard to say what the Drummond ranch would be without The Pioneer Woman’s dogs.
You have self-sufficient pups like Walter, the ultimate cuddle-bug couch potato, who knows how to “self-pet” if he’s not getting enough attention. Then there’s Duke, the Labrador retriever, who helps remind Ree when it’s time to get a new dog pool, especially after getting resourceful with a metal bucket a few years ago. And, of course, all of the other furry friends who provide constant entertainment, posing for the funniest dog pics and Instagram-worthy videos. Ree’s pups make up the fabric of the ranch and always show up for the family’s most important moments, intentionally or not (ahem, crashing Alex and Mauricio’s wedding reception 😂). “Our dogs are our friends, companions, and soul mates,” Ree says. “And their presence in our lives is so strongly tied to family memories and milestones.”
While you may think of these prized pooches as unruly and “free-range in every possible way,” they’re also *essential* to the goings-on at the ranch. They work their tails off, whether that’s making the family smile or running unruly cows off of the Drummond yard. So, if you’ve only seen snoozing content, here are some of the best ways Ree’s dogs “help out” around the ranch.
