Funko and ASPCA Team for Back to the Future, Wizard of Oz Pet Pop! tricks

Pop culture lifestyle brand Funko and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) have teamed up for Back to the Future and Wizard of Oz-inspired Funko Pops!.

As part of National Pet Day, Funko announced that it would be partnering with ASPCA as part of its Pops! With Purpose initiative, which turns pets from iconic movies into Funko Pops! in order to help raise funds for the ASPCA. The figures include Einstein from Universal Pictures’ Back to the Future and Dorothy’s dog, Toto, from The Wizard of Ozwhich will be available for pre-order exclusively through Funko starting Oct. 4. Each figure will cost $15 and Funko will donate $10 for each figure sold.

“The ASPCA does such important work in their fight to prevent cruelty to animals, which is a cause near and dear to the hearts of many of our employees,” said Andrew Perlmutter, Chief Executive Officer at Funko. “When fans purchase their favorite Pops! With Purpose pet figures, they’re displaying not only their fandom but their desire to help the ASPCA in their anti-cruelty mission, which we’re honored to be a part of.”

While photos of the figures themselves are not yet available, Funko released illustrations of what the iconic movie pets will look like as Pops! figures. Funko’s vinyl Einstein and Toto figurines will each stand at 3.5 inches tall and come with a designated sticker and box art. “We are thankful for Funko’s support of our efforts to protect and care for animals across the country,” said Rebecca Frommer, Director, Cause Partnerships & Events, ASPCA. “For every Pops! With Purpose ASPCA figurine purchased, the ASPCA will receive a donation to support our commitment to helping vulnerable animals in need.”

Funko was recently named one of the most trustworthy companies in the United States. Based on a survey of 50,000 US residents conducted by Newsweek and Statista, Funko was listed among 25 other Consumer Goods companies and ranked 5th behind Hasbro, Yeti, Proctor and Gamble and Colgate-Palmolive.

Apart from the Pops! figures of iconic movie pets, Funko recently released a series of Marvel-inspired figurines, including Mr. Knight from the ongoing Moon Knight Disney+ series and a line of Wanda Vision-inspired collectibles, including a glow-in-the-dark Scarlet Witch figure. Both figures are available for pre-order.
