Johnny Depp: Witness claims actor’s dogs would leave ‘poop’ everywhere

Dogs in Johnny Depp’s penthouses would “pee and poop” everywhere, the court heard during the actor’s defamation case on Wednesday.

Witness Joshua Drew claimed the actor and Amber Heard’s pets would defecate on “couches, sofas, chairs” amongst over items of furniture during his video deposition played to those in Virginia’s Fairfax County Courthouse.

The evidence comes after Ms Heard, 36, denied leaving faeces in the bed she shared with her former husband when giving her testimony on Monday – suggesting the actor’s teacup Yorkie Boo was responsible.

Mr Depp, 58, has previously tested that he believes his former wife left “human faecal matter” in their marital bed after a fight in 2016, before leaving to travel to the Coachella music festival with friends.

In a video heard in court on Wednesday, Mr Drew – a former member of Ms Heard and Mr Depp’s ‘inner circle’ – claimed he would frequently clean up dog mess in the divorced couple’s home.

Former chef Mr Drew lived in one of Mr Depp’s Los Angeles penthouses with his ex-wife Raquel ‘Rocky’ Pennington, another witness who gave testimony on Wednesday.

“I’ve cleaned up my fair share in that apartment,” the court heard Mr Drew recall on Wednesday when discussing dog mess in the former couple’s home.

“They weren’t trained at all,” he added when discussing Ms Heard and Mr Depp’s pets.

He went on to claim the animals would “pee and poop on everything. Couches, sofa, chairs, – you name it”.

On Monday, Ms Heard responded to accusations that she left faecal matter in Mr Depp’s bed as a prank back in 2016.

“Absolutely not,” the Aquaman responded to the claim in court.

“First of all I don’t think that’s funny. I don’t know what grown woman does.”

The mum-of-one added: “I was also not in a pranking mood. My life was falling apart. I had just been attacked on my 30th birthday by my violent husband with whom I was desperately in love.”

Ms Heard suggests that Mr Depp’s dog, who she claims has bowel-control issues, defecated on the bed, as she left the animal on the bed while she got ready to go to Coachella with friends.

Mr Depp is suing his ex-wife for alleged defamation over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018, in which she stated she was a victim of domestic abuse.

The article – titled “I spoke up against sexual violence – and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change” – did not mention the actor by name, but Mr Depp argues that he has lost work and been financially impacted by the piece.

Ms Heard is countersuing her ex-husband for $100million (£81million).

The trial continues and is set to conclude on Friday 27 May, after which the jury will deliver its verdict.
