A newly adopted feline is delighting the Internet after she settled into her new home right away with ease.
The viral Reddit post recounting the situation is titled, “Brought this fluff ball home today. Her foster parents said it might take her a couple days to get used to the house.” The content has been upvoted 20,400 times since it was shared on March 15, and people can’t get enough of it.
According to Statista, in a 2021 and 2022 survey, 45.3 million households owned a cat in the United States. Likewise, 69 million households owned a dog according to the survey results.
The short 20-second clip, posted by Redditor @purplecubicle, started with the Redditor standing as their new orange-and-white cat walked over to where the bed was, looking up and eventually jumping up on it among the array of blankets and pillows —despite a cat bed right next to her on the floor.
The cat walked around the bedding on top of the bed, getting comfortable and laying down right away without any issue. The feline, which is orange and white, looked around at her new home before the video cut off.
Despite what the foster parents said, the cat made herself right at home. Her ease in her new space is melting the hearts of viewers who appreciate the cat’s reaction to the changes.
Over 300 comments came pouring in over the cat, and people are delighted she grew accustomed to her new surroundings so quickly. “She seems to be making herself right at home!” a Redditor pointed out.
Other viewers think the bed has a new owner. “Looks like that’s her bed now!” a Redditor said. “Enjoy your new love muffins.”
Some people praised the original poster (OP) for the cat’s initial reaction. “Congratulations!” a user said. “Your sweet baby feels right at home. It’s a testimony to how awesome y’all are.”
Other people had comments like, “She’s gonna sleep with you every night the rest of her life,” and “Seems to be settling in just fine.”
Another calls the OP “good people,” adding, “Isn’t it the best when they just know they’re home? Way to go OP, she’s chosen you and settling for a long, happy, comfy life with you.”
Words of appreciation for the situation were everywhere. “Aww, she loves you and your house,” a Redditor wrote. “This makes me so happy.”
Another person thinks the cat “approves” of her surroundings, saying “She is quite happy with her new home and her new human.”
Some even became emotional over the content. “This gave me a happy tear,” a viewer admitted. “You’re going to be so happy together!”
